the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Weak low pressure tracks into the Great Lakes today
with occasional rain and modest winds. A stronger low pressure
system arriving from the Midwest then rapidly deepens over the
northern Great Lakes Wednesday into Wednesday night, leading to a
long duration of gales through early Friday. Much cooler air
arrives with snow squalls becoming likely Thursday into Friday.

...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE
THURSDAY NIGHT...

.REST OF TODAY...Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Showers in the late
morning and early afternoon...then showers likely late in the
afternoon. Waves 2 feet or less.
.TONIGHT...Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 15 to 20
knots. Cloudy. Areas of fog until early morning. Showers likely
early in the evening. A chance of showers in the late evening and
early morning...then showers likely early in the morning. Waves 2
feet or less.
.WEDNESDAY...Southwest winds 20 to 25 knots increasing to 35 knot
gales with gusts to 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy. A chance of
showers until late afternoon. A chance of snow showers in the late
morning and afternoon. Waves 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally around
7 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...West at 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy. Snow
showers likely until early morning...then a chance of snow showers
after midnight. Waves 5 to 7 feet. Waves occasionally around 10
feet.
.THURSDAY...West at 35 knot gales diminishing to 30 knots in the
afternoon...then increasing to 35 knot gales in the evening. Gusts
to 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves
4 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 8 feet.
.FRIDAY...West at 35 knot gales. Partly cloudy. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
Waves occasionally around 7 feet.
.SATURDAY...South winds 10 to 15 knots. Partly cloudy. Light snow
likely. Waves 2 feet or less.
