1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Weak low pressure tracks through the Great Lakes today
with occasional rain and modest winds. A stronger low pressure
system arriving from the Midwest then rapidly deepens over the
northern Great Lakes Wednesday into Wednesday night, leading to a
long duration of gales through early Friday. Much cooler air
arrives with snow squalls becoming likely Thursday into Friday.
The next system will work through the area on Sunday.

THURSDAY NIGHT...

.TONIGHT...Southwest winds 5 to 10 knots increasing to 15 to 20
knots. Mostly cloudy. Patchy dense fog. A chance of light rain early
in the evening. A chance of light rain early in the morning. Waves 2
feet or less.
.WEDNESDAY...Southwest winds 20 to 25 knots increasing to 35 knot
gales with gusts to 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy. A chance of light
rain until late afternoon. A chance of light snow in the afternoon.
Waves 3 to 5 feet building to 4 to 6 feet late in the afternoon.
Waves occasionally around 8 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...West at 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy. Light snow
likely until early morning...then a chance of light snow after
midnight. Waves 5 to 7 feet. Waves occasionally around 10 feet.
.THURSDAY...West at 35 knot gales diminishing to 30 knots in the
late morning and afternoon. Gusts to 40 knot gales. Mostly cloudy
with a chance of light snow. Waves 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally
around 7 feet.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...West at 35 knot gales. Mostly cloudy early in the
evening becoming partly cloudy. Waves 3 to 5 feet. Waves
occasionally around 6 feet.
.FRIDAY...West winds to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 20 knots in
the afternoon and evening. Partly cloudy. Waves 3 to 5 feet
subsiding to 1 to 3 feet in the afternoon and evening. Waves
occasionally around 7 feet.
.SATURDAY...South winds 15 to 20 knots. Light snow. Waves 2 feet or
less.
.SUNDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots. Light rain and snow. Waves 1 to
3 feet.
