Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western Washington
National Weather Service Seattle WA
918 AM PDT Fri Sep 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...Onshore flow looks to bring a modest improvement
throughout the area today, with even better RH recoveries into the
weekend. Over the weekend, an upper level trough and low pressure
system will move into the region to boost the chances for widespread
thunderstorms and showers, but confidence in the specific timing and
coverage still remains low. Isolated thunderstorms could possibly
start as early as this afternoon for the southern Washington
Cascades, but again, coverage seems very limited at this time.

Forecast for 20 foot wind speed (valleys and ridge tops) are 10
 minute averages reflecting RAWS winds.
