Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast
National Weather Service Seattle WA
350 AM PDT Fri Oct 17 2025

.SYNOPSIS...A weak frontal system will move across the park Friday
morning. A stronger, wetter system will follow Saturday afternoon
into Saturday night. Unstable air mass behind the front for
showers and a chance of thunderstorms Sunday. A brief lull in the
action Monday before more weather systems take aim at Western
Washington Tuesday through the end of next week.

&&

.IMPACTS...Strong winds in alpine regions on the mountain,
including the Muir snowfield, will make it difficult to move
safely and could produce local whiteout conditions Friday through
Saturday. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping
in these conditions.

Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry skiing and
mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine terrain of Mt.
Rainier, including the Muir snowfield Saturday night and Sunday.
Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near zero
visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience in
alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for
navigation and camping in these conditions.
