Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...A weather system will move across the region today,
bringing widespread rain, high elevation snow, and strong winds
to the summit of Mount Rainier. Chances of isolated thunderstorms
will be possible at the park throughout the day. Another system
will move into the region Thursday evening into Friday, bringing
another round of precipitation and strong winds. Conditions will
then dry out over the weekend, before additional systems move
into the region early next week.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult mountaineering
conditions at 10,000 feet and above, with local blizzard-like
conditions, strong winds, and near zero visibility. A high level
of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS,
is recommended for navigation and camping in these situations.

.WEDNESDAY...Partly sunny in the morning, then a chance of rain
and snow late in the morning. Rain showers, snow showers and a
slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. No snow
accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 10000 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, snow
showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then
partly cloudy after midnight. Snow level near 7000 feet in the
evening.
.THURSDAY...Sunny. Freezing level near 9000 feet increasing to
12000 feet in the afternoon.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the
evening, then mostly cloudy with showers after midnight. Snow
level near 11000 feet.
.FRIDAY...Partly sunny. A slight chance of showers in the
morning. Snow level near 8000 feet.
