Kansas and southwestern Missouri early this morning. Dense fog
is expected to develop within this fog at times across these
locations and a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10AM
this morning. Any fog that develops will dissipate by the mid
morning hours. Some high clouds could remain over the area
through much of the day. Highs will generally warm into the
upper 70s to middle 80s this afternoon with low humidity.

Lows will cool into the middle 50s to around 60 degrees tonight
into Saturday morning. Some patchy fog may be possible in some
locations across extreme southeastern and southern Missouri
Saturday morning, but coverage will be more limited.

.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 200 AM CDT Fri Aug 29 2025

The region will remain in an upper level northwest flow pattern
through this weekend. Dry conditions are expected through
Sunday with light southeasterly winds. Highs will warm into the
lower to middle 80s and lows will be in the middle 50s to the
lower 60s. Afternoon humidity values will be in the 30 to 40%
range both Saturday and Sunday.

An upper level short wave trough will move through the region
early next week. The trough will bring 15 to 35% chances for
rain across the area with this disturbance with the better
chances to the southwest decreasing to the northeast across the
area. The could be a few embedded rumbles of thunder at times
but no severe weather is expected. Highs in the upper 70s to the
lower 80s will continue early next week.

An upper level low will move across the region during the middle
of the week and will send a cold front south through the region.
Additional rain chances will occur along the front, but may be
more scattered in nature so not all locations could be impacted.
Behind the front a cooler air mass will advect into the area
late next week. The ensemble model members are in good agreement
on cooler conditions but differ on how much cooler, as some
members are showing a deeper low and a cooler air mass. Highs
could range from as cool as the middle 60s to as warm as the
upper 70s next Thursday and Friday depending on the placement
of the upper level low next week.
