...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Missouri, including the
  following counties, Oregon and Shannon.

* WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 903 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - This includes the following low water crossings...
    Hurricane Creek at Highway U, Piney Creek at County Road 228
    and Whites Creek at Highway K.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Alton, Wilderness, Greer, Couch and Myrtle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
