Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
149 PM CDT Wed Aug 27 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Rain chances increase this afternoon and evening through early
Thursday afternoon. The best chances are along and southwest of a
Osceola to Bakersfield line (50-100%), though areas northeast of
there may see some intermittent light showers. The areas with the
highest chances could see rain amounts up to 2-4 inches with
localized areas in the extreme southwest corner of Missouri and
extreme southeast corner of Kansas seeing up to 4-7 inches.

Afterwards, winds will shift to easterly for Friday and much of
the weekend, with a slow warm up from the 70s into the middle
80s.
