Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri
National Weather Service Springfield MO
205 AM CST Mon Nov 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A dry air mass remains in place across the area but moisture is
starting to slowly advect in from the southwest. Moisture will
continue to slowly increase some from west to east today, but will
be slow to increase across portions of the eastern Ozarks along and
east of Highway 65 where humidity values in the 25 to 35 percent
range will occur by late morning, portions of central Missouri
could see RH values around 20%. RH values will slowly increase
from west to east this afternoon, but will be slowest to return
across central Missouri. Gusty southeasterly winds will also occur
today with gusts up to 20 to 25 mph at times.

Clouds will also increase from west to east this morning into this
afternoon with the moisture return. A few isolated showers and
thunderstorms will be possible from mid morning into the afternoon
hours then again from late evening into early Tuesday morning. Not
all locations will be affected by this activity.

Well above normal temperatures and breezy west to southwesterly
winds will occur across the area on Tuesday. Widespread additional
rain chances are then expected at times from late Wednesday into
Friday as showers and thunderstorms move across the area.
