Fire Weather Planning Forecast for southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri...UPDATED
National Weather Service Springfield MO
1006 AM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Above normal temperatures in the mid to upper 80s will continue
across the area through today and south of I-44 Tuesday.

Today and Tuesday will have a 20-60% chance for a few showers and
storms at times, though not all locations will be impacted. The
highest chances are confined to Shannon and Oregon counties,
mainly today and tonight. Here, a more persistent light rain is
possible through Tuesday. All other locations may only see hit or
miss spotty showers (15-30% chance).

Winds will be at 5-10 mph today out of the southeast. A cold front
will push through between 9 PM and 5 AM tonight, shifting 8-12 mph
out of the north for the day Tuesday. These winds then slowly
shift back to southerly Wednesday into Thursday.
