Weather hazards expected... Marginal hail risk. Marginal thunderstorm wind damage risk. Limited lightning risk. Elevated excessive rainfall risk DISCUSSION... A few thunderstorms will be possible today and tonight over extreme southeast Kansas into portions of southwestern Missouri. The stronger storms may be capable of wind gusts up to 50 mph and lightning, along with extremely heavy rainfall leading to isolated instances of nuisance flooding. Additional storms will develop across the central plains and could track into the area late tonight into Sunday morning. Some gusty winds will be possible with this activity mainly along and west of Interstate 49. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday. A chance of thunderstorms exists daily Sunday into the middle of next week generally in the 15 to 50 percent chance range. Lightning and heavy rain will be the main risks with any thunderstorms. Some heavy rain may lead to isolated instances of nuisance flooding. Gusty winds up to 40-50 mph cannot be ruled out.
