.Synopsis for the far Southern California coast...
At 1 AM, a 1018 mb high was over Bakersfield and a 1014 mb low was
50 nautical miles west of Point Reyes. A cold front extended from
the low toward the southwest. This front will move through the
Southern California coastal waters this evening, with strengthening
southerly winds this afternoon turning westerly tonight,
generating choppy seas. There is also a slight chance of
thunderstorms late this afternoon through Friday afternoon. Any
thunderstorm could bring lightning, gusty winds, choppy seas, and
a waterspout. Offshore flow prevails Friday into Saturday,
followed by weak and variable flow through Monday.
