At 2 AM, a 1025 mb high was 600 nautical miles west of San Francisco and a 1014 mb low was over San Diego. A front extended from a 1004 mb low over northwest California south and west off the California coast. This front will move into southern California coastal waters late this afternoon and evening, with a distinct wind shift from southerly to westerly. The strongest winds will be the westerly winds behind the front. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Any thunderstorm could produce lightning, gusty erratic winds, choppy seas, and/or a waterspout. Weak and variable flow will follow, Tuesday night through Thursday.
