.Synopsis for the far Southern California coast...
At 2 PM, a 1025 mb high was 900 nautical miles west of Morro Bay
and a front extended from a 1002 mb low over Redding, south and
west off the California coast. This front will move into southern
California coastal waters late this afternoon and evening, with a
distinct wind shift from southerly to westerly. The strongest
winds will be the westerly winds behind the front. There is a
slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Any
thunderstorm could produce lightning, gusty erratic winds, choppy
seas, and/or a waterspout. Weak and variable flow will follow,
Tuesday night through Thursday. The next storm system has the
potential to bring hazardous winds and seas Thursday night and
Friday.
