.DISCUSSION...
Gradual warming and drying through Thursday. Chances for a weak
to moderate Santa Ana event are now 40% Tuesday, 80% Wednesday,
and 50% Thursday. Winds will generally be confined to the usual
wind-prone passes, canyons, and coastal slopes with peak gusts of
35-45 mph on Wednesday. While relative humidity may drop below
15%, especially Wednesday, recent rainfall will mitigate the fire
weather threat. Cooler Friday into next weekend with a 15% chance
of precipitation Sunday morning, increasing to 25-35% Sunday
afternoon and evening for the mountains westward, and around 20%
in the deserts.
