A survey was completed on November 21, 2025 investigating damage
that was reported at Dana Point Harbor by a convective rain
shower that occurred around 10 PM on November 20, 2025.

A heavy rain shower moved through Dana Point Harbor on the late
evening of  November 20, 2025. This rain shower produced gusty
winds as it moved into Dana Point Harbor from the ocean. No
tornadic or waterspout radar signatures were observed during the
time of the event and based on damage it is unlikely a tornado or
waterspout occurred. The most significant damage came from a wind
gust that lofted a 12 foot segment of temporary chain link fence
with privacy tarp approximately 70 feet across a parking lot.
Winds were estimated to be 34 to 46 MPH based on radar from KSOX.
There was no other damage reported. No injuries were reported.
