Isolated light showers will continue through early this afternoon
with rainfall rates generally 0.05"/hr or less.

A band of moderate to briefly heavy precipitation associated with
a cold front will move through late this afternoon into tonight,
followed by scattered showers through at least Wednesday morning.
There is a 20% chance of additional wrap-around showers on the
back side of the low Wednesday afternoon, mainly across the
mountains and deserts. There is a 10-15% chance of thunderstorms
with the cold front this afternoon and evening, followed by a 10%
chance of thunderstorms again Tuesday afternoon. Rainfall rates
with the main rain band will be around 0.25-0.50"/hr, though brief
higher rates up to 0.80"/hr are possible in a narrow band along
the cold front and in any thunderstorms that develop.

Storm total precipitation with this low are forecast to be around
0.50-0.75" for the coasts to the mountains, with amounts of 1-1.6"
on the south/southwest facing coastal slopes, 0.10-0.30" in the
deserts, and less than 0.10" in the deserts. Desert amounts could
end up being higher should the wrap around showers materializes.
There is a 30-50% chance of rainfall totals exceeding 1" for
the coasts and valleys, and a 15-20% chance of exceeding 2" along
the coastal slopes of the mountains.

Snow levels will be near 6500-7000 ft in the main precipitation
band, falling to 4500-5000 ft across the San Bernardino Mountains
and 5000-5500 ft in Riverside/San Diego Counties Tuesday morning.
Snow totals for 5500-6500 ft will be near 1", 2-4" between
6500-7000 ft, and 4-8" above 7000 ft. These amounts could end up
increasing if the wrap around showers occur, especially for the
northern slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains.

A third system is poised to move into the region sometime between
Thursday and Saturday, but confidence in timing and amounts with
this system is low, and there is a 10% chance that it tracks too
far north and east to bring any precipitation.
