Orange and San Diego Counties early this morning ahead of the next system with accumulations less than 0.10 inch. The next low pressure system from the northwest will bring another round of more widespread showers for tonight and Friday with a slight chance of thunderstorms for tonight. Scattered showers will continue at times for Friday night and Saturday with the greatest coverage and amounts for the mountains. The snow level will rise to 6500 to 7000 feet for late this afternoon, then fall to around 5500 to 6000 for early Friday morning, before rising to around 6000 to 6500 feet for Friday evening. Through Saturday, rainfall and liquid-equivalent above the snow level could range from around 1 inch at the coast to 1.5 to 2 inches for the mountains with locally greater amounts. Chances for one inch or more of rainfall or liquid-equivalent above the snow level through Friday night ranges from around 30 percent near the coast to 50 to 70 percent in the mountains. Snow totals will range from 2 to 6 inches at 6500 feet and 8 to 12 inches between 7000 and 8000 feet. Dry weather will follow for Sunday through Thanksgiving. $$ 17
