 - Low rain chances could linger through Tuesday before drying
   out.

 - Warm temperatures will get even warmer, reaching the upper 90s
   and low triple digits by midweek.

 - Drought and fire weather conditions will continue to worsen
   with the prolonged period of hot, dry weather.

Some areas saw rain this afternoon, but those that didn`t are
unlikely to see much more over the next week. Rain chances will
be much lower for the next few days without a forcing mechanism to
organize things. After Tuesday afternoon, rain chances will be
near zero across the Ark-La-Tx for the foreseeable future.
At the same time, temperatures are likely to stay in the mid 90s
for the remainder of this weekend before warming into the upper
90s for the work week. Even with the warm temperatures, current
forecast heat indices should remain just below heat advisory
criteria. The amount of broad subsidence from two regions of
upper-level ridging will limit the amount of cloud cover and make
temperatures feel that much hotter. Even without a heat product,
anybody spending time outside should take measures to stay
hydrated and avoid heat-related illness.

In addition to the heat, the ambient conditions will worsen
drought and make fire starts/spreading more likely. Fuels will
quickly dry out after today`s showers and any ignition will have
the potential to start grass fires. Many counties and parishes
have already issued public burn bans with more expected to be
issued as conditions continue to deteriorate. Follow the guidance
of local officials on burn bans and report any active fires to
emergency services.

For the 09/06z TAF period...Some patchy fog will develop across
portions of the region overnight, mainly across locations along
and north of I-30.  Otherwise, expect VFR conditions to prevail
overnight with mid and high clouds over the region. By this
afternoon, more isolated to widely scattered showers and
thunderstorms are expected to develop across the airspace. Since
coverage is expected to be isolated, decided to go with VCTS in
the TAFs at this time and will amend if needed. Brief gusty winds
could accompany this convection along with cloud to ground
lightning. This activity should diminish this evening with the
loss of daytime heating. /20/
