.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1045 AM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025

A progressive weather pattern expected through much of the period
as a series of airmass exchanges occur across the ArkLaTex.

A frontal boundary will drift south across the region late this
evening allowing for showers and isolated thunderstorms aross
mainly south Arkansas and southeast Oklahoma tonight. Convection
is forecast to shift south with the front across the I-20 corridor
on Tuesday. Cooler air filtering south behind the front will
allow for overnight lows in the low to mid 60s across portions of
southeast Oklahoma and south Arkansas with highs on Tuesday in the
lower to mid 80s across these same areas. South of the front,
across the remainder of the ArkLaTex, increased cloud cover will
limit highs to the lower 90s.

Another weak front will move into the the region on Tuesday night
into Wednesday and linger across the I-20 corridor through
Wednesday night before a surge of drier air pushes the front
south of the region on Thursday. Although the drier air will not
reflect heavily on afternoon highs, which will average in the
upper 80s to around 90 degrees, overnight temperatures will
radiate down into the mid 60s by Thursday morning.

Moisture to surge back north on Friday night into Saturday ahead
of a weak surface low that will translate east across the region
allowing for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through
the early part of the weekend. However, by Sunday, high pressure
to build across much of the central and eastern part of the
country with the coldest temperatures of the week across the
ArkLaTex expected on Sunday into Sunday night with highs ranging
from the low to mid 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s. /05/

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1208 PM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025

For the 01/18z TAFs...Sites continue to have VFR conditions
prevailing that should continue through the period. There are some
light reflectivity signatures appearing on recent radar scans in
northeast TX and southwest AR which may affect the airspace near
KELD in the next few hours. Impacts from these showers should be
minor. The HREF continues to suggest some more scattered development
in east Texas beginning around 19z that will mainly stay along and
west of I-49. These showers are likely to dissipate soon after
00z tonight and leave light and variable winds for most sites.
KLFK may see some brief fog development around daybreak tomorrow
that will mix out after a few hours. /57/
