.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1128 AM CDT Fri Sep 25 2026

Surface high to remain parked across the region through the early
part of the weekend allowing for light winds areawide.
A slight warming trend is expected through Saturday as the
prevailing cooler airmass begins to gradually moderate. However,
weak southerly flow returning to the region on Sunday to drive
high temperatures to the mid 90s through midweek.

Northwest flow aloft to increase across the ArkLaTex as the
prevailing upper-ridge shifts southwest. Weak disturbances in the
flow could bring widely scattered convection to parts of
northeast Texas and southeast Oklahoma from Sunday into Monday.

An eastward moving upper-ridge to bring dry conditions to the
region on Tuesday. However, widespread beneficial rainfall
expected from Wednesday into Thursday as an upper-trough swings
east across the region. For the past several model runs, the GFS
has indicated that the trough may be slow to exist the region
allowing for continued rain chances into Thursday night. Otherwise,
increased cloud-cover and precipitation will allow for cooler
highs in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees on Wednesday and
Thursday. /05/
