Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
450 AM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and humid conditions are expected again today, as the morning low
clouds lift later this morning giving way to a mix of sun and clouds for
the afternoon. However, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected
to develop later this morning over Southeast Texas and South Louisiana,
and spread north into East Texas and portions of North Louisiana during
the afternoon. Brief heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be possible in
the stronger storms, with additional storms that will progress southeast
across Oklahoma later today expected to possibly affect portions of
Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and North Louisiana late this
afternoon through this evening before diminishing. Min RH`s today will
remain abnormally high, ranging from 55-65+%. Additional showers and
thunderstorms may be more numerous across the region Sunday as an upper
level disturbance drifts southeast into the area. Again, brief heavy rainfall
and gusty winds will be possible in the stronger storms, with this disturbance
expected to become stationary over the region Sunday night through at least
least midweek, thus focusing the potential for isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms each day over East Texas, North Louisiana, and portions of
Southern Arkansas. Upper level ridging will gradually expand east from the
Southern Plains into the Mississippi Valley by late week, with hotter conditions,
although at least the potential for additional afternoon showers and
thunderstorms possible over Deep East Texas and North Louisiana.
