.DISCUSSION...
An unsettled weather pattern is expected today through the upcoming
weekend, as an upper level low pressure system develops over the region
today and will linger over the next few days. This system will bring
increased cloud cover, cooler temperatures, and also the potential for
scattered showers and a few thunderstorms over the area especially
during the afternoon and evening over North Louisiana, Lower East Texas
along/south of I-20, and portions of Southern Arkansas. While rainfall
amounts should not be excessive, brief heavy rainfall will be possible
from some of the storms. Min RH`s today will range from 50-60% with
north-northeast 20ft winds 5-10 mph. Slightly drier air will begin to
mix south into the area Saturday with scattered rains primarily concentrated
over Deep East Texas and North Louisiana, although a westward wobble of this
low Saturday night and Sunday should result in higher min RH`s as scattered
rains shift farther west across the region. This system will begin to lift
northeast out of the region Monday, thus reducing shower and thunderstorm
development, with much warmer, more humid, and drier conditions returning
Tuesday through the end of the next work week as an upper level ridge of
high pressure settled over the area.
