Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA

.DISCUSSION...

Well as expected, a wet last night with rain ending by midday
with some new record amounts to long standing numbers. We are not
done with the rain everywhere as even now we are seeing new
development over some of our TX zones. Generally east of I-49 will
stay much drier in the coming days as the NE winds extend higher
up. Over TX, the NE winds are shallow with the front closer by.
This is the gentle slope which the NW flow backs to aloft is
loaded with little upper level ripples in the flow. Showers and
isolated thunderstorms will continue west of I-49 overnight and
into much of Saturday. The is high pressure is running out of
gas, so the frontal boundary will be more or less stationary with
some more convection into and through Sunday, and still more or
less west of I-49. Meanwhile, our NE winds today will veer to E
early Sunday as another reinforcing front will be arriving late
Monday. This will mean a chance for rain area wide on Labor Day
and then winds shifting the NW to help dry things out better. Min
RHs will remain elevated with the super wet soil and there will
be patchy to areas of fog, some dense, from midnight to daybreak
through the weekend. The secondary front will keep highs near to
around 90 and lows in the 60s. Low will cool a bit midweek as
overnights will see fairer skies by this time.
