.DISCUSSION...

Very hot temperatures will continue today through this weekend
with mid to upper 90s and some isolated triple digits. Drier air
is also expected to move across the Red River Valley, resulting
in min RH values ranging from 25-30 percent with light southeast
winds generally remaining below 10 mph. However, the dry air in
place may contribute to some slightly higher gusts mixing down to
the surface during the afternoon hours today and throughout the
weekend as high pressure continues to dominate. Therefore, fire
danger may become even more elevated under these conditions given
how dry fuels have become over the past several weeks.
