...NWS Damage Survey For 11/20/2025 Tornado Event...

.Overview...During the evening hours of November 20, 2025,
scattered to numerous thunderstorms developed in advance of a
short wave disturbance moving into the Southern Plains. A
particularly strong thunderstorm moved into Cherokee County
shortly after 9PM CST where a favorable environment existed for
tornadoes. This thunderstorm was able to produce a brief EF1
tornado between the towns of Jacksonville and Tecula, Texas.

Summary: Shortly after 9pm on November 20, 2025, an EF-1 tornado
touched down just east of State Highway 135, approximately
3 miles northeast of downtown Jacksonville, TX and 3 miles
southwest of Tecula, TX near the intersection of County Road
4212. Here, the tornado was at its strongest, producing winds
around 100 mph and destroying a large barn next to a residential
home. Metal roofing was thrown several hundred yards to the
northeast while also puncturing a large tree trunk, and nearby
trees were snapped and powerlines brought down. Then, along
County Road 4212, a carport was thrown on top of a garage and
a neighboring manufactured home had its back porch blown off and
thrown into the yard. Continuing east down County Road 4212 there
were numerous trees uprooted and large branches snapped. As
County Road 4212 then merges into County Road4213, another barn
was destroyed, along with the roof of a carport blown onto the
driveway of a residence. Further north along County Road 4213,
the were multiple large uprooted and large branches snapped. A
nearby manufactured home also displayed significant roof damage.
The tornado then lifted within a field nearby the railroad tracks
that run north back to State Highway 135.

EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into
the following categories.

EF0...Weak......65 TO 85 mph
EF1...Weak......86 TO 110 mph
EF2...Strong....111 TO 135 mph
EF3...Strong....136 TO 165 mph
EF4...Violent...166 TO 200mph
EF5...Violent...>200mph
