...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN NACOGDOCHES...
SOUTHWESTERN RUSK AND NORTHEASTERN CHEROKEE COUNTIES UNTIL 630 AM
CDT...

At 540 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Ponta, or 8 miles northeast of Rusk, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Rusk, Sacul, New Salem, Ponta, New Summerfield, Cushing, Gallatin,
  Reklaw, Lilbert and Linwood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
