Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in eastern sections
of the Big Country with afternoon heating, where mid level moisture
and clouds are present. Any storms should dissipate by sunset.
Otherwise warmer and drier today as upper ridging builds in from the
east. South winds will increase slightly today, becoming gusty at
times mid morning into the afternoon as a lee trough develops.
Otherwise, it will remain more humid due to recent rainfall and
southerly winds from the Gulf and Mexico.

(Thursday through Tuesday)

The pattern shifts to warmer and drier for west central Texas as
we go into the second half of July. An upper level ridge of high
pressure will build into the Southern Plains on Thursday and
expand southward into north Texas over the weekend. This will
result in hot and dry conditions for our area. Rain chances will
be slim to none this weekend and into the beginning of next week.
High temperatures will creep up into the upper 90s to near 100
degrees across the western Concho Valley and Big Country by Sunday
and Monday. Overnight lows will be warm and muggy in the 70s.

IFR stratus at KSOA and MVFR stratus has returned over the
terminals this morning. Stratus should rise VFR and scatter out
towards noon. South winds will increase mid morning with gusts of
18-23 KTS (highest winds at KABI). Winds weaken late this
afternoon.
