.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Sunday)
Issued at 120 PM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025

An upper level ridge will remain centered across northern Mexico and
the Desert Southwest through the next 24 hours. West Central Texas
will remain on the eastern periphery of this feature. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms across coastal Texas are moving toward
Central Texas. A few of these could approach the northwest Hill
Country, but most of this activity should remain well to the south
of the forecast area.

A mesoscale convective system (MCS) is forecast to develop across
Oklahoma overnight. This is then forecast to track south along the
eastern periphery of the ridge Sunday morning into Sunday afternoon.
There remains uncertainty on how far west this MCS will extend,
although the RRFS and HRRR both indicate at least some showers and
thunderstorms getting into our eastern counties. For now, have added
in some slight chance PoPs for these areas. Trends overnight will
need to be monitored, and PoPs might need to be extended a bit
farther west. Highs on Sunday will be slightly above normal, in the
mid to upper 90s.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday through Friday)
Issued at 1256 AM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025

For Sunday through next week an upper level ridge building over
the Plains will result in hot and dry conditions over our area
with highs in the 90s this weekend then in the upper 90s to around
102 next week. it will also be humid through the long term as
dewpoints remain in the 60s to lower 70s. Please follow heat
safety precautions if you our outside. Afternoon heating and some
instability could lead to an isolated shower/thunderstorm each
afternoon and evening, but rain chances look very low Sunday
through Wednesday across much of the area.
