- Scattered thunderstorms, some potentially severe, are expected
  to develop from late this afternoon into the early morning hours
  on Tuesday, with the highest chances east of an Abilene to San Angelo
  line. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns.

- Drier weather for the rest of the week with no significant
  weather impacts.

A cold front is currently moving into and through the area early
this morning behind the thunderstorms that occurred last night. We
will have dry northwest flow move in behind those storms in the
from the surface up through the upper levels. This will result in
clear skies and generally quiet weather, with northwest winds from
10 to 20 MPH. Highs today will range from the upper 60s to the
lower 70s, with lows tonight dropping into the upper 40s to lower
50s.

(Wednesday night through next Tuesday)

The upper-level pattern will remain unsettled for the second half
of this week, as a series of upper level troughs and embedded
disturbances swing through the area through the end of the week.
However, models continue to keep conditions drier across the area,
resulting in little to no precipitation chances through Friday. A
slightly stronger upper-level trough is expected to track north
of the area over the weekend, bringing some increased chances for
light showers across parts of West Central Texas mainly on
Saturday. A larger/more potent upper-level ridge is expected to
build across the area for the early part of next week. As for
temperatures, Generally a cooler and drier air mass will remain
across the area with no really cold air on the way. Overnight low
temperatures in the 40s and 50s are expected through the long term
forecast, with afternoon high temperatures expected to , and then
40s. Highs mainly in the 70s for Wednesday and Thursday, cooling
into the 60s for Friday through Sunday, and gradually climbing
back into the 70s for the first half of next week.

mid to late morning today into the 10 to 15 knot range, with gusts
