(Today and tonight) Issued at 143 AM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025 Upper-level ridging continues to build across the region with generally more warmer and drier conditions expected for today. Some showers associated with a weakening MCV (Mesoscale Convective Vortex) are approaching the western portions of the Big Country, and are expected to dissipate as it moves into a more stable environment. High temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s today, with overnight lows tonight only falling into the low to mid 70s. Generally dry conditions are expected during the day, with light south to southeast winds increasing to 10 to 15 mph. && .LONG TERM... (Sunday through Friday) Issued at 1256 AM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025 For Sunday through next week an upper level ridge building over the Plains will result in hot and dry conditions over our area with highs in the 90s this weekend then in the upper 90s to around 102 next week. it will also be humid through the long term as dewpoints remain in the 60s to lower 70s. Please follow heat safety precautions if you our outside. Afternoon heating and some instability could lead to an isolated shower/thunderstorm each afternoon and evening, but rain chances look very low Sunday through Wednesday across much of the area. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1223 AM CDT Sat Jun 14 2025 VFR conditions are generally expected over the next 24 hours with a brief window of possible MVFR ceilings across the southern three terminals (KBBD, KSOA, and KJCT) early this morning. Any MVFR Ceilings should dissipate around 15-17Z with increasing southerly winds in the afternoon. Winds will generally become light and variable early this morning and begin to increase out of the south to southeast by later this morning. Winds are expected to remain around 8 to 12 knots with some gusts as high as 20 knots.
