Expect hot and dry conditions to continue across the area again on
Thursday as a strong upper level ridge(the center of the high over
southeast Oklahoma) will be over our area. Highs tomorrow will be in
the mid 90s to near 100 which is much above normal. Expect warm and
humid conditions tonight with lows mainly in the 70s.

(Friday night through next Thursday)

The ridge currently centered over the southern CONUS will re-center
over our area by early this weekend, keeping hot and dry conditions
going. Highs will be in the upper 90s to around 100 which is well
above normal. Expect a more unsettled pattern, with weak upper level
southwest flow and increasing moisture, leading to a low-medium
chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms for early to middle
of next week. Looks like localized rainfall amounts of greater
than 1/2 of an inch are possible across northern and western parts
of the area. Temperatures will be cooler with highs in the lower
to mid 90s but still above normal.

Southeast winds will decrease this evening and overnight. A
brief gust to around 15 knots is possible this evening. With
surface and low-level winds from the southeast, smoke from the
fire west of Sonora will be carried to the northwest and is
not expected to affect the visibility at the KSOA TAF sties.
On Friday morning, southeast or south-southeast winds will
increase to 8-10 knots by or shortly after 15Z. Winds will
be primarily from the southeast in the afternoon, and a brief
gust to around 15 knots is possible. Similar to today, a
diurnal VFR-based cumulus field is expected to develop by late
morning or midday.
