The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central Tom Green County in west central Texas...
* Until 600 AM CST.
* At 251 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
San Angelo, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Lake Nasworthy, O.C. Fisher
Reservoir and San Angelo State Park.
This includes the following Low Water Crossings...
College Hills and Millbrook, Southwest Blvd and Loop 306, Howard and
Webster, Jackson From Knickerbocker to South Bryant, 300 block of
North Archer, 1500 Block of Spaulding, Parkwood and Lindenwood,
Huntington and Sunset, Sul Ross At Red Arroyo Crossing and
Huntington and Sunset.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
