...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM AST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by overflowing of the Inabon River is
  expected.

* WHERE...Ponce.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM AST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
  passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 338 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    excessive runoff from early rains upstream of Rio Inabon.
    Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
    warned area, affecting portions of PR-1 near the Mercedita
    Airport. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
