.DISCUSSION...
Today`s weather conditions are expected to be less conducive to fire
spread compared to recent days, as increasing moisture and
decreasing winds prevail across the region. These changes are
helping to ease fire weather concerns, particularly in southern
Puerto Rico, where critical fire conditions were observed earlier
this week.
Although very dry fuels remain and recent rainfall deficits continue
to support overall dryness, the fire danger threat has decreased
today due to improved atmospheric conditions. While low humidity may
still occur locally, especially across the southern coastal
plains and adjacent hills, the potential for rapid fire spread is
lower than in previous days.
However, by midweek, a return of drier air along with increasing
winds could lead to a renewed fire danger threat, particularly in
areas where vegetation remains dry. Forecast conditions will
continue to be monitored closely for any signs of increased fire
weather risk.
Residents and land management officials should continue to exercise
caution and stay informed of any updates in the forecast.
