.DISCUSSION...
Today, breezy to windy conditions are expected across the islands,
with easterly winds between 10 - 15 mph, up to 19 - 20 mph in
localized areas with gusts between 20 - 23 mph. A trade wind
perturbation moving across the local islands will continue to bring
showers across portions of eastern/southeastern Puerto Rico and
the U.S. Virgin Islands throughout the day. Although the 24 hour
relative trend suggest areas just below thresholds (between 53 and
55 %), KDBI values and soil saturations do not meet Fire Weather
Criteria. Hence, the fire danger threat will remain low for today.
Updates to the fire weather forecast will be made if required.
