.DISCUSSION...
Breezy to locally windy conditions continue across the region
with winds between 15 to 20 mph and higher gusts. The southern
coastal plains of Puerto Rico remains as the main concern, as the
vegetation heath keeps deteriorating with very low soil
saturations and dry fuels. The precipitation deficit continues
along this zone, with percent of normals in the last 30 days below
25%. Stations over these areas (Guanica and Cabo Rojo) continue
reporting KDBI values above thresholds (628 and 593 respectively)
presenting very dry conditions across the area. Given these
conditions, and relative humidities dropping below thresholds
(around 48 %), a Fire Danger Statement is in effect for the
southern coastal plains and hills of Puerto Rico.

exercise caution and follow any guidance in place. Refer to the
