The nearshore and off shore Atlantic and Caribbean Coastal Waters-
549 AM AST Wed Oct 8 2025

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Puerto Rico.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

.Lightning...Isolated thunderstorms moving towards windward
sectors, and, during the afternoon, particularly across central to
western, northern and northwestern PR. Stay alert and be prepared
to take shelter if storms develop.

.Excessive Rainfall...Flooding in urban areas, roads, small
streams, and washes, particularly across northern, western and
northwestern PR. There is a low chance of isolated flash floods.
Elsewhere, plan for water ponding on roads and in poorly drained
areas.

.Excessive Heat...This level of heat affects most individuals
sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling
and/or adequate hydration. Those extremely sensitive to heat face
the highest risk. Some health systems and heat-sensitive
industries could be affected. These conditions are most likely
across across urban and coastal areas.

.Marine Conditions...Small craft should exercise caution,
particularly across eastern offshore Atlantic waters.

.Rip Currents...Life-threatening rip currents are possible in the
surf zone, particularly across northern and eastern beaches of PR,
as well as Vieques and Culebra. Isolated stronger rip currents
may occur elsewhere, especially near piers, jetties, and channels.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Limited to elevated flooding risk is forecast during the next few
days. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) continues monitoring
Tropical Storm Jerry, located over the central Atlantic. This
system is expected to approach the northeast Caribbean by Friday
as a Hurricane. The latest advisory has Jerry as a hurricane with
its closest approach being 196 miles NE of St. John on Friday
morning. Hazardous marine and coastal conditions are forecast to
return on Thursday to Saturday, as Jerry moves east of the region.
Heat risks will also possibly continue as Jerry promotes
southerly flow through at least early Sunday. Residents and
visitors should remain informed and monitor official updates from
the National Hurricane Center and our local office as Jerry
approaches the Lesser Antilles. Heat risks will also possibly
continue.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is encouraged. Please relay any information
about flooding, winds, waves, and rip currents to the National
Weather Service in San Juan.
