The areas affected include... Anegada Passage east of Virgin Gorda and Saint Croix south to 17N... Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N... Caribbean Waters of Puerto Rico from 10 NM to 17N, including the Coastal Waters of Saint Croix... Coastal Waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques, and around and just north of Culebra and Saint John... Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM... Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Coastal Waters of Southern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... At 336 AM AST, radar and satellite imagery indicated strong thunderstorms associated with an easterly perturbation, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located over the Atlantic and Caribbean Waters, moving west at 10 to 15 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm.
