721 FZCA72 TJSJ 050158 MWSSJU Marine Weather Statement National Weather Service San Juan PR 958 PM AST Tue Jun 4 2024 AMZ711-051000- Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico and USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N- 958 PM AST Tue Jun 4 2024 ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER OFFSHORE ATLANTIC WATERS... At 956 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located across the northern offshore Atlantic waters and will continue to regenerate in the next few hours likely increasing in coverage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. $$
