...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

At 1030 AM AST, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms
were located along a line extending from the offshore Caribbean
waters to over and north of St. Thomas. The thunderstorms were
nearly stationary.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.

Intense lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

Report severe weather to the Coast Guard or nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
forecast office.
