Subject:Soliciting Comments on the Proposed Discontinuation
of Hazardous Weather Outlook Legacy Product on November
            30th, 2025.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan is seeking comments through
November 30th, 2025, on the proposed termination of the Hazardous Weather
Outlook (HWO) legacy product
(https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&product=HWO&issuedby=SJU).
While the HWO plays a significant role in supporting the NWS mission, its
current textual or narrative format can prove challenging to an increasingly
diverse customer base.
Instead, we are promoting the experimental Graphical Hazardous Weather
Outlook (GHWO), which serves as a decision aid to significantly enhance
preparedness and response efforts prior to and during hazardous weather.
The GHWO produces clear, concise, multi-level color-coded graphics that
provide decision makers with convenient access to potential weather hazard
information and associated risks out to seven days, all packaged within a
comprehensive web page suite: https://www.weather.gov/erh/ghwo?wfo=sju.
