Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service San Juan PR
514 AM AST Fri Jul 18 2025

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN
PORTIONS...

A drier air mass will limits rain activity across the region
during the morning hours, when we expect RH values to drop around
critical thresholds for the southern portions of PR. RH values
will range from the mid 40s to low 50s, with east to east-
northeast winds between 15 and 20 mph with gusts around 25 MPH,
especially with variations due to sea breeze. KBDI values are
between 604 and 652. All these factors will elevate the fire
danger risk today.

Keep in mind that afternoon thunderstorms and showers will develop
across the southwest quadrant today.

Fire and emergency officials should be aware that weather
conditions are becoming more conducive for the ignition and
spread of wildfires.

Fire danger statements are issued when fire weather conditions
are approaching, but not meeting or exceeding, Red Flag Warning
criteria.
