Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service San Juan PR
501 AM AST Wed Jun 25 2025

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
SECTIONS OF PUERTO RICO...

Little to no rainfall is anticipated across the southern sections
of Puerto Rico. This should lead to relative humidities dropping
near 50%. Wind speeds are expected to increase by mid- morning
under the east southeasterly sea breeze, above 15 mph with gusts
near 30 mph. In addition, the KBDI in Guanica and Cabo Rojo
remains above critical fire weather thresholds (613 and 646
respectively). Therefore, weather conditions should be favorable
for the spread of wildfires along the Southern Sections of Puerto
Rico.

Fire and emergency officials should be aware that weather
conditions are becoming more conducive for the ignition and
spread of wildfires.

Fire danger statements are issued when fire weather conditions
are approaching, but not meeting or exceeding, Red Flag Warning
criteria.
