...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT MUNICIPALITIES OF NORTH-
CENTRAL, WESTERN INTERIOR AND CENTRAL INTERIOR THROUGH 345 PM AST...

At 237 PM AST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Florida and Arecibo. This thunderstorm was nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and frequent lightning. Pea size
         hail and funnel clouds are possible.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Arecibo, Florida, Manati, Utuado, Barceloneta, Ciales, Vega Baja,
Pajonal, Bajadero, La Alianza, Imbery, Barahona, Coto Norte,
Franquez, La Luisa, Cayuco, Tiburones, Animas, Bufalo, and Tierras
Nuevas Pon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel
clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions
they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a
funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the
National Weather Service.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in San Juan.
