.KEY MESSAGES, Issued 1040 AM MDT Wed Sep 30 2026...


- High pressure will build across the western US through the
  latter half of the week, resulting in drier conditions along
  with a gradual warming trend through the weekend.

- A weakening storm system will bring the potential for at least
  spotty precipitation over the area on Monday.

.DISCUSSION, Issued 1040 AM MDT Wed Sep 30 2026...
An upper level low is in place south of the Four
Corners area this morning and will track east-northeast across New
Mexico through the day before heading into the Plains tomorrow.
Moisture wrapping around the low will continue to bring generally
light precipitation to the far southeastern portion of the
forecast area, mainly encompassing the Glen Canyon area and
immediate surroundings, through the early afternoon hours today
before pulling away. Behind the exiting low, high pressure will
build into Utah through the end of the week. Expect temperatures
to gradually trend warmer through this period, with dry and stable
conditions prevailing.

Models bring a weakening trough into the area on Monday. This may
bring some spotty precipitation to the area and cool temperatures
slightly. High pressure then looks likely to rebound again by the
middle of next week.

.AVIATION, Issued 512 AM MDT Wed Sep 30 2026...

KSLC...Light northwesterly winds will increase through the day
before switching back to the south around 03-05Z.

REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...Rain showers will impact
terminals across southeastern Utah, roughly south and east of a line
from KNB to HVE. Occasional MVFR conditions will occur in these rain
showers through the day.

.FIRE WEATHER...High pressure will build into the area through the
weekend. This will lead to drier and more stable conditions along
with a gradual warming trend. Some enhanced northerly winds may
remain in place tonight but generally light and terrain-driven
winds are expected thereafter. A weakening storm system looks to
cross the area on Monday. Isolated to scattered showers with
localized wetting rain will be possible with this storm.
Otherwise, high pressure is expected to build back into the area
once again by the middle of next week.
