.KEY MESSAGES...

- High pressure will keep conditions dry and mild over Utah and
  southwest Wyoming through Monday.

- A weak storm system will move through the area Tuesday, curbing
  the warming trend and bringing a low chance of showers to the
  higher terrain.

- A more active pattern may develop next weekend.

.DISCUSSION...Not a cloud in the sky over Utah and southwest
Wyoming this morning with strong high pressure centered near the
Four Corners. It`ll be another dry and mild day with maxes
averaging 10F above seasonal normals. Though the ridge weakens and
shifts east tomorrow, dry conditions will continue with
temperatures similar to today.

The weakening of the ridge will allow for a weak storm system to
move across the area Tuesday, moving in during the early morning
and persisting through the afternoon. Impacts will be minimal,
with temperatures expected to drop a couple of degrees for Tuesday
afternoon with a few showers developing over the higher terrain
during the afternoon. After that, dry conditions look to persist
through the remainder of the work week with temperatures staying
mild.

By late next weekend, the majority of guidance is showing at least
some impacts from a strong Pacific Northwest storm system.
However, there is considerable spread with regard to the timing,
track, and strength of this system. Still, with little else of
interest on the horizon, will be keeping a close eye on the
potential solutions over the next several days.

.AVIATION, Issued 608 AM MDT Sun Oct 4 2026...

KSLC...VFR conditions prevail at the KSLC terminal under generally
clear skies through the TAF period. Winds remain overall light, with
southeasterly winds transitioning to the northwest around 20z.

REST OF UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING...VFR conditions expected to
prevail across all regional terminals under mostly clear skies.
Winds remain generally light with typical diurnal shifts.

.FIRE WEATHER...Strong high pressure will keep conditions dry and
mild with generally light winds through Monday. A weak storm
system on Tuesday will bring a small increase in relative humidity
values and a low chance of showers over Utah`s higher terrain
during the afternoon. This will bring a small potential for gusty
and erratic winds. Dry and mild conditions will then persist into
the first part of the upcoming weekend with a stronger storm
system potentially impacting the area in about seven days time.
