The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Garfield County in southern Utah...
  South Central Wayne County in southern Utah...

* Until 630 PM MDT.

* At 334 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across portions of Capitol Reef National Park...
  specifically Pleasant Creek, Burro Wash, Cottonwood Wash, Five Mile
  Wash, and Sheets Gulch. Between 0.25 and 0.5 inches of rain have
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are possible
  in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, normally dry
           washes, and slot canyons

  Capitol Reef National Park

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, dry washes, and slot canyons which can
become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid these
areas.
