...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM MDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...South Central Kane County in southern Utah...

* WHEN...Until 815 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of the Paria River, Wahweap Creek, and other
  low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 508 AM MDT, gauge reports indicated flooding continues due to
    earlier thunderstorms.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Big Water, the Paria River, Buckskin Gulch, Wire Pass, and
    Wahweap Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
