...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Central Washington County in southwestern Utah...

* WHEN...Until 900 PM MDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of the upper Santa Clara River in Pine Valley
  down stream to just below Baker Reservoir is imminent or occurring.
  USGS gauges and cameras along the Santa Clara River in Pine Valley
  are showing rapid rises in river flow, and they are expected to
  continue with additional rainfall moving into the area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 110 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
    heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected
    to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of
    rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    The Santa Clara River through Pine Valley and down stream to just
    below Baker Reservoir.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry washes is likely. The heavy rains will
likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.
